life is a struggle

Things seem such a struggle to me at the moment.
I am finding it especially hard to get along with people both at work and at home (I live in a shared house).

I just find that having a conversation with people is more of a battle than an enjoyable conversation. It seems to me that people are constantly trying to prove themselves and people always have to have the last word and be right. I find this at work and at home.

I think because I am not a very assertive/confident/outgoing/loud person I can easily be drowned out and it makes me feel inferior to others.

I really need a change of people around me. Its so true what they say about people you spend a lot of time around make a big impact on your life and you personally. And the people I am spending time around I have decided are not what I need to make me a better person.

So what are you going to do?

Move house, move job? Move country? Turn to the bottle?

Or you could go out, have your hair cut, maybe dyed. Buy some new clothes etc. change your image.

What do you think.....give me a clue.
How can the problem be with everyone around you? It can't be all of them. I think you are probably suffering from stress and you need to chill out a bit.

I think you need to attend some assertiveness classes and take a break or go on holiday.

It sounds like I am saying its everyone else thats the problem above and yes to a certain extent it is but I am also to blame as well partially due to my lack of confidence and not sticking up for myself and voicing my opinions.

And yes tiggerblue I def need a hol and am def stressed. Luckily I am going to mallorca next week so perhaps I will feel more revived after that.

You seem to have lots of problems soph20, judging by your other posts.
Thats good.

There must be things going on at work and home that you haven't mentioned. I was in a similar predicament at work last year and I plucked up the courage to admit to others that I was being bullied. Several months on the bully has been dealt with and I am now getting on with things as normal.
Finding it hard to get on with a lot of people can be a sign of depression - maybe it has all just got a bit overwhelming. If you like your job, I would move - and see if that helps ... are you young and your house mates are all trying to find their place in the world ... God that can be stressful who wants to live with 'Legends in their own Lunch times' sorts. Maybe if you can raise the bar of your homelife work won't feel so bad.
