My two pennies worth would be: The age thing would not make any difference. 5 years is nothing, especially at those ages. The problem in my view is the different countries. Living 200 miles apart, let alone another country is a large strain on a relationship. It would be wise to try and move on if possible. Be strong!
As Stav said, don't worry about the age thing. I'm 28 and my wife to be is 35. We're happy as Larry.
I find it very difficult to even consider dating a younger guy, but then, that's just my opinion. It is widely accepted that age should not be a problem in relationships. But the distance, now, that's definitely a problem. You'd only end up drifting apart emotionally, if you're anything like me. I would move on if I were you, but since you're in love with him, that might be easier said than done!
OBonio, - Larry tells me he's really unhappy with his girlfriend and has looking at dating sites on the web. He's found this woman who seems really keen on him, but shes 5 years older than him and lives in a different country.
My boyfriend is 9 years older than me and he lives 5000 miles away. we get on just fine. I'm going to live with him in February and he will visit me in December. Have you ever thought about writing a letter?
Long distance relationships require a lot of work, and an agreed mindset between the two of you to ensure that jelousy and loneliness do not destroy your relationship. You need to ensure you have a wide circle of friends and a good social life. If your relationship is strong, it will survive the distance, if not, then you will have good friends to help you move on.
five years is nothing! Unless you're fibbing and it's really like 16 and 21 in which case it is a bit dodgy - but other than you're both grown adults!
age is just numbers... but i'm concerned where does he live?
Age doesn't make any kind of difference to anything.... I'm 16 and my boyfriend is 23. I agree with Stav, the countries apart is the problem. Either one of you moves countries (which is a bit mad)or you have to get over him. It's hard because your in love, but you can't have your life on standstill for him.
