Any ABers had stomach pains, a bit like chronic wind, when first taking this tablet? I am just in my first week of it and know this website is not a substitute for a doctor and I will go back if necessary, but just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced similar and if so, did it go?

i have been taking ramipril for high blood pressure for about 3 years and have never suffered any stomach problems with it although everyone is different. i get a dry cough each time the dose is increased, and this usually lasts for about 2 months, although my last increase was about 6 months ago and the cough has only recently subsided. the cough is a common side effect so just be aware you may develope one.
I have been on Ramipril since I had my son in Feb 2007, and I had a similar side effect to you, it is a known side effect, so I wouldn't worry too much, if it carries on for longer than a few weeks, then I would discuss it with your GP. I had to go back and have a few blood tests, but that could be because of the reason I am taking it (I had eclampsia and fitted when I was pregnant, as my BP shot up unexpectedly) I am still not 100%, but the Ramipril is keeping everything fairly settled. I also had nausea and dizziness which is also commen. I would stick with it, and see how you go. Let me know how it goes. Good luck!
(sorry....waffled on a bit there!)

I'm on this at the moment, and my doctor did say it might cause this, and if it does, to tell him. I actually suffer pretty badly with heartburn anyway, but usually only caused by eating certain foods, and I have had no problems at all.

Thanks for your replies, everyone. The pains are subsiding a bit now so am hoping they will eventually go completely. Have an appointment for a blood test next week, so if I am still in trouble, will have a word then. Looking at the leaflet enclosed with the tablets and the list of possible side effects makes my head spin!
i`ve just replied to a similar question on here about this tablet

but again i`ve been on this now for over 2 years and no symptoms what so ever :)
my bp was 200/100
