Does anyone else sometimes have trouble differentiating between dreams and reality? Sometimes I have dreams about normal things, for example a conversation with someone, and when I think back I tend to find it hard to remember if i dreamt it or if it actually happened. Does anyone else get this? I feel like I'm going slightly mental lol

Hey pinks, you might be going mental, but I am too. I do this in the morning a lot, I know I have to get up. So I end up dreaming that I've got up, had a shower and started to get dressed. It's really quite gutting when I wake up and am still in bed. - xxx
ye reckon its all extreme dejavu sorta thing. well weird i get it all the time. When good things happen i actually sometimes worry tht im dreaming while theyre happenin lol n im bein serious.
I do the opposite formergp, when something bad is happening I try to wake up hoping that it's a dream. lol
We tend to dream about things we've already experienced or things that have been active on our mind. If you talk to someone on a regular basis its quite possible they'll appear in dreams. Dreams are a way for our minds to 'clean up' and put things in perspective, which is often why we wake up feeling better after a stressful day. You're not going 'mental' at all, everyone finds it difficult, sometimes, to differentiate between dreams and reality, especially if the dreams concern people or activities we encounter everyday.
I was dreaming the other night, I don't remember what the dream was, but in it someone was heavily running up some stairs. The next bit is bizarre, because something in my subconsciousness was urging me to wake up and that the noise wasn't part of the dream.

I woke up with my heart thumping and scared to move just in case there actually was someone in my house and I'd just heard the footsteps coming up the stairs for real.
A couple of weeks ago I had a dream that blurred into reality. The distubing thing about it was that I dreamt I had killed someone and taken the body in a wheelbarrow and dumped it in a field. It was the most realistic dream i've ever had and I woke up half convinced that it was a recovered memory rather than a dream.I finally convinced myself it was a dream when I realised I have never owned or even used a wheelbarrow.lol.I blame the nicotine patches I am using to help me stop smoking, they do have the effect of causing vivid dreams, its a known side effect and is usually quite entertaining.
