What makes your knuckles crack - and is it as bad for you as my mother thinks?

Ive always been told that it is ga bubbles in the synovial fluid that makes the pop. And no, theres no proof that it does any harm.

sometimes it can be air in the synovial fluid coming out. However, if you can crack them continuously it's more than likely ligaments running over the bone, and can cause the joints to run off track slightly. It won't help with arthritis in later life.
