I get indigestion every time I start to eat my evening meal. I don't get it at breakfast or lunch so I think it must be to do with it being hot food. Has anyone else had this? I have to wait til the food is cold, eat it really slowly and then have gaviscon liquid. It's not much fun. Any advice?

I had the same thing for about 6 months, then found that if I took ranatidine before I went to bed ( doctor prescribed them) every night the problem went. I lost some weight and stopped taking the tablets and had no problem, but since putting on weight again it has returned, so I am dieting again.

Yes I can't take that though cos I have IBD and it gives me bad flare-ups!
What kind of food are you eating? My hubby gets terrible indigestion from certain hot food - for example anything with pastry (although fine cold) or buttered hot toast (but dry toast is fine)
I've got no explanation for it, but we have now worked out what kind of food he needs to avoid (mainly high in fat)
By contrast, I can eat anything!!

I eat various things for dinner- last night it was quorn shepherds pie. Shouldn't be too difficult to digest- quorn mince and mashed potato! I will try eating cold food tonight and see what effect that has.
whats IBD? Irritable Bowel Dyndrome?
