I am so very depressed today. Just lost an old neighbour 82 who helped my sister who lost her son 3 years ago. The neighbour was a diversion for her. She only went into see her for one hour a day but it helped as this neighbour was very funny. Sad day. I am going back to bed.

Are you depressed because you see your sister suffering now? It is impossible to replace someone exactly, so my advice would be not to try and find someone else who could visit.
Have you tried taking your sister out and finding some mutual pastime you can both enjoy together?

In my personal experience, I find it hard to tackle the feelings of depression head on, if you can get around them even slightly you may find that tackling them from another direction works for you too.

Good luck, hope you can make use of this.

thanks laaaaardy bloke for that
So sad to hear that homerbart. It's not weird or unusual to be upset when you've lost someone. It sounds like you cared for this neighbour and how she helped your sister.

But isn't it great that you're on AB talking about her and her sense of humour - what a great way to remember someone! Wherever she is now, I'm sure she'll be chuffed to bits that you're thinking of her and how she made a difference in your lives. Just think of the good times and be grateful that you had a chance to get to know her.

Give yourself time to grieve, and I hope you feel better soon x
