hi oldgrape, good to see you about.

He isnt doing it for the liquid, just because its something to do and probably causes you to react in a way he likes.

Theres no way you can prevent him doing it just like that but if you see him about to do it distract him somehow, make bubbles, blow bubble bath, get a squirty toy or a waterfall toy to occupy him.

Eventually he may just forget to drink the water

hi to you both it was only a few weeks ago that i managed him to stop him going for a poo in the bath! he automatically wees as soon as he gets in so i have been holding a jug over his winky as he does that so he doesn't drink his own wee
try sitting him on potty next to bath as you run it. little CRX used potty like this at that age too.

My son used to grab hold of the sponge and suck all the water out of it. He used to choke and splutter but it never did him any harm in the long run.
He'll grow out of it. Try putting more toys in the bath to keep his mind off the water.
I used to suck the sponge and eat it as well on occassion! I am now 41 and have no health problems - in fact I seem to have a cast iron stomach, so maybe it actually did me some good.
