I was quite surprised to hear on the wireless earlier that geneticists are just as interested in the fathers genes of woman with breast cancer as the mother. This is a recent thing, as it was before assumed that only the mothers side posed a risk.

Does anybody know with male only cancers like testes and prostate, if the mothers side of things is pertinent to risk assessment?

I know men can get breast cancer, but I believe this a very rare phenomena.
