I can't really tell yet whether it's his head or back or what but he quite often pushes against the top of my belly, just above my belly button and slightly to the right. I'll always feel something very hard but can't work out which body part it is. At 29+3 weeks it could be anything, but I'd love to know. I take it he still has plenty of room to do somersaults in there? What positions do your babies like?

Morning MB, hope you're well :-)

Mine seems to like attempting backflips within a VERY small space at the moment. He/ she/ it is very active and consequently I have come to work on a Monday morning feeling beaten up as opposed to rested after the weekend - my hip joints ache, my coccyx feels bruised, my shoulders ache, my ribs ache, my lower back aches, my head aches, I have Shrek like puffy ankles and my calves feel like I have spent hours on the treadmill (sadly, they don't look like I have spent hours on the treadmill).

I once read on one of these posts (made by redcrx I think), that if the sticky-out bit is very hard then it is probably the bum because the head is very soft. I asked my midwife last week (I am 28+5, but was 28+0 at the time) if she could tell which end was which on me but she told me because mine was so far back she could only tell me which way it was laying but that in a few weeks I should be able to tell though :-)

Anyhoo, rant over, back to the original question LOL..... mine seems to lay diagonally across me - one end is at my my right hip and the other under my left ribs, every now and then I can feel it dead central and can feel movement behind where my uterus used to be (you know where you'd have felt period pains), and in the middle of my tum above my belly button and below my ribs. The most active bit is definitely my right hip though, as they seem to be botting there most often and I love watching it move in the evenings.
Not sure what happened there but I manage to mangle the paragraphs into a random order, so put it together as you see fit. Hope it made sense :-) LOL
morning ladies,

I did say that Natalie, but since read differently. My midwife told me first though, maybe it was in early stages, before baby has put on fat.

Anyway baby CRX's fave position seems to be running top to bottom, I think bottom up. I get all the prods and pokes down below usually with the occasional one upwards which seem stronger. I get to many in the cervix for my liking though and feel like everything is gonne fall out lol
Morning ladies,

I was getting something hard pushing out at the top just below my ribs on the right hand side. I was presuming it was head but found out when I last see my midwife it was in fact bottom! It is hard to tel which is head and bottom as they feel similar and shape and are both in fact, hard. Sometimes you can tell which is head as the area around it can sometimes feel tender.

Mine has always seemed to have preferred the left hand side for some reason and has been there for a couple of months now. Its bottom is still on the left hand side below ribs but sometimes goes to the centre. Its head is down and trying to engage and all the limbs are over on the right hand side and baby often plays football with my hip! I noticed this morning that my bump seems to have become lower as well. I was wondering if it was a sign that the head has engaged even though its unusual for it to happen so soon, especially as its not my first pregnancy.

Im trying to get over the shock that suddenly I only have 6 weeks to go!! lol

Has anyone else noticed baby having a routine of sorts yet? Mine seems to wake when I do but only has a little shuffle and settles back down. It is asleep most of the day, just the odd shuffle and stretch. In the evenings though it sometimes can be fidgeting for a couple of hours in one go and will do the same at some point during the night when I want to sleep! If it carries on with this routine after its born, Im not going to be happy! lol
Hi Psy and Red, my little one seems to be most active from 8pm-ish when I settle down in front of TV, then I get random spells throughout the night and for a short burst first thing when a get up, and also when I have eaten (which is pretty much all day LOL). The most active period though is in the evenings before I go to bed, it's a lovely feeling to have it that time of day just when I am settling because I can sit and watching my belly moving! :-)

What does your daughter make of it Psy, and your son, Red?
my bump is almost always on the go. But i get the real big kicks and wriggles in the eves.

my son is asking me daily if the baby is big enough to come out lol. He wont watch my bump move, he hasnt the patience to wait for more than 2 seconds lol

He is so desperate for a little sister though and is really excited, I wonder if he will be disappointed.
Awww, Red that's sweet. Typical boy though, eh?
My brother is nearly 22 and won't touch my tum to meet his neice / nephew - I grabbed his hand to put it on my belly, that had gone rock hard, and he started squealing like a girl, "Seriously, Nat, it freaks me out! I don't want to touch it! It's weird!". Charming.

My six year old neice has declared that if it is a girl we are to call it Molly, (which would sound utterly ridiculous with our surname LOL), and if it is a boy we are to send it back!
well we have to call our baby Conker if its a girl apparently lol

Am so stuck for names, went through whole baby name book and only came up with 6 possibles the other day. With little CRX my fella had the name picked picked out before we even got pregnant. I then added 3 middle names as i really wasnt expecting to have any more children.
MY daughter makes quite a fuss of my bump, which has surprised me. She likes to feel baby move and will even randomly come up and kiss the bump! She also has nappy changing organised. She is going to pass all the clean stuff to my boyfriend who will then change babys bottom. That way I dont have to do anything and she only has to do the clean stuff lol Fine by me!
that sounds great Psy, but dont count on it lasting very long lol

Conker?! PMSL. I love it!

I have loads of girls names in mind, but none for a boy. Well none, that I have that Eureka moment with anyway.

We have decided that we are going to wait until the baby is born and decide when we see him / her, as I know so many people who have had names fixed throughout pregnancy but changed their minds uppon seeing the baby. When people ask if I have a name in mind I tell them Ethel for a girl and Percy for a boy just to see their faces :-)

(Not that there is anything wrong with the names Ethel or Percy you understand.....)
good cos they are 2 of the 6 we had in mind lol

little CRX was called shirley-bob throughout my pregnancy and my aunt actually though thats what we'd call him!

Can you share some of your girl names with me then please natalie, we havent got a clue and everytime we seem to think of something, something else puts us off!

Baby has just made me to be a liar with the routine thing! I have just been sat round at the docs and the little bugg3r wouldnt sit still lol
Top of the list for us at the moment is Bella, although we'd have Isabella on the birth cert so that if she wanted to shorten it to Izzy or something when she is older then she could. Other ones I like (he generally doesn't) are:
Amelia
Delilah
Matilda
Poppy
Daisy
Evie
Sadly my little Hellyon is 10 now but when I was pregnant I used to get a hard little lump under my rib on the left side, I had to had a late scan and the lump was revealed to be a little right heel! I had a really stressful time at work when I was pregnant and I used to rub his little foot through my side for comfort (me and Baby O, as he was then, against the world lol) and even now if he's upset or poorly he likes me to rub his heel - weird or what.

BTW lovely names Nat.
Amelia is the name we probably would have had but my boyfriends mate called his little girl that.

I really like Isabella but we have said the first name needs to be no longer than 2 syllables and easy to spell because the poor thing is going to have a hard enough time getting to grips with its surname lol I have also said I would like to have the name starting with a vowel. Both me and my boyfriend begin with s and my daughters starts with a and I said it wouldnt be fair for her to be the odd one out if we had another s and just thought both of them starting with a vowel would be nice. I dont want much do I? lol
OH POO!

Amelia is the name Ive got too pmsl

It never used to be so popular lol
lol Nat, I mentioned Delilah to my fella as i love that song by the white tees or something.

Sadly, at our age we recall the Tom Jones song more so he said no.

I also like Alice, but my sis keeps singing 'alice? Alice? who the f*** is Alice?'
Isobel?
Cordelia?
Jessamine?
Emilia?
I work in a primary school, or did, and Amelia isnt actually that popular compared to other names. In fact, in the whole school I think there is just one Amelia. Im tempted to still Isabella off natalie though lol I think I would have it shortened to Izzy though as this goes with the rules I have set for the babys name lol

I do have one name in mind but there are two ways of pronouncing it. One way I really like and the other way I dont like and thats whats stopping me from commiting to it at the moment.
