Dove, as skyep says; bilirubin. In most liver diseases the enzyme bilirubin increases and gives that 'yellowish' , or jaundiced appearance to the skin. Another medical 'book' would be "Symptoms Of Heart Disease': by Dr. Anne Gina.:)
