Yes i got one removed from my back as my bra strap kept rubbing it and making it bleed. It was done at my local hospital and with a painkilling injection. Depending on the size and depth of the mole though you may need stitches. I found it to be a painfree experience.

Thanks cobweb. Tell me, did they inject the mole itself or the surrounding area? If its pain free i'll go and see my GP, i cannot handle pain to well and i think that is what has put me off from having it done :-) Thanks for putting my mind at ease.
I had quite a large one removed from exactly the same area as cobweb! Your GP should be able to do for you in his surgery. Two injections, one each side, and because it was large ( I was a wimp and left it too long) had to have it 'shaved' away. Bit sore for a while afterwards, but the actual process was pain free.
I had one removed from the bottom of my skull. It was cut away with a scalpal. It didn't hurt but I very stupidly drove there and because of the injections to numb it I couldn't turn my head!!! Had 3 stiches still have a very small scar.
Slaphead, you must get them removed ASAP especially as they have grown as you say. I've had one removed and it's just a small, quick injection that takes seconds then they can be removed. I also work in the Op Theatre so know a little about them and you should get them removed.
I had a thing on my thigh which I thought was a mole. It kept itching and bleeding periodically. I went to my GP who referred me to my local hospital where the dermatologist said it was not a mole at all, but an angioma, hence not dangerous, but she would remove it because it was bothering me. (She also checked all of my body, even the soles of my feet! but did not find anything else that concerned her). I had to sit and wait in the waiting room for perhaps an hour, then they called me back in, I had an injection and they removed it. They warned me it might be sore for a few days because there was a cut and some stitches but in fact it was painfree on the whole, perhaps a bit ticklish but that's all. I had to be careful not to let the area get wet and I had to go back to hospital to have the stitches removed, all painless. The hospital checked the tissue removed and confirmed it was not malignant.
it is not painful, i removed them myself using mole & wart ez clear. It does sting though! not for long - maybe a couple of minutes but it was worth it. i found the treatment to be quick and easy.
