sand - I would say women now more than ever know there own mind, wouldn't say it's 50 - 50. I think over the last 20 years or so things have changed quite a bit.
Of course it's a mans world.
In my house, I wear the trousers, if I want hot water to wash the dishes, then let me tell you, I get hot water, no arguments
you have the rights and opportunities. Just don't expect really equal pay!
-- answer removed --
Yes, women have equal rights and opportunities. Whether they make the most of them and also are strong enough physically to do all that men do is another matter.
Women on the whole aren't capable of being as loyal and productive workers as men. That aside they still have opporturtunities galore and are treated with the utmost dignity and respect, so much so that there are rules against discrimination and harrassment that were written to protect them. I don't think they have anythign to complain about really.

generally more a mans world than a womans

that aside things have changed

Dassie, you say ""whether women are strong enough physically to do all that men do is another matter". What in your opinion can a man do physically that a woman can't.?
A woman can't equal a man physically in strength generally.
get an erection
Men should actually be paid more than women because on the whole a man's food bill outweighs a women's. Men need (on average) 500 more calories a day than women. Men are more productive because they take less time off due to geinicological reasons including hormone imbalance, period pains and pregnancy. Men don't take paternal leave as much either but none of these factors are allowed to be considered in hiring staff. QED a woman has equal opportunity in gaining employment although arguably isn't as capable of fullfiling the demands of the job.

Skreech

Where's your proof that women 'aren't as capable of being as loyal and productive'?

Men's food bill doesn't have to outweigh womens. They can get more calories by eating different foods that cost the same.

Women don't take time off work for Man Flu.

If women didn't take time off work to have children, there'd be no one around to pay your pension.

Next argument??
it annoys me all these equal rights. If a womans going to say she wants equals rights then she should want just and not moan when a bloke doesnt open the door for her or buy her dinner, you either want equal rights or you dont.
4get - a lot of that though is just manners. I hold the door open for people regardless of whether they're men or women, and like it when others do the same.

If I invite someone out for a meal, I expect to pay for it.

If I am invited out for a meal I will offer to pay my half, but would be a little suprised if that offer is taken up (unless it's with a mate and is a regular arrangement).

Great minds Sasha : )

If I offer to take someone out for a meal of course I pay for it and opening doors and such is just good manners. I hate the old fashioned rule of men earn the cash and women stay at home and women are so much weaker than men....b******* that went out years ago
Could a woman be a hod carrier?
