Why - please be more specific!
If you are really worried about aid's symptoms, there are millions of sites such as http://www.youandaids.org/About%20HIVAIDS/Symptoms
/index.asp
for mountains of info.
If this is a wind-up, it is not funny.
not that you can be certain of. within a few weeks of infection you may feel just general symptoms of infection, like flu but without the nose and throat problems. swallen lymph nodes all over the body are probably the major one but it just means you have an infection, nothing else - doesnt tell you which one. its to easy to get paranoid, dont mind any synptoms and rely only on test
Exactly wildwood, that's why I asked Lorna C to be more specific with her question, not that I'm an expert on the subject!
if you have been exposed to the hiv virus or think you may have, then you should get checked out at your local GUM clinic, telephone number will be available from NHS direct. At a GUM clinic you don't have to give your name and no personal details will be revealed without your sayso. In some people exposed to the HIV virus, a 'seroconversion illness' (where the person will develop antibodies to the HIV virus, going from HIV negative to HIV positive) will follow, this is generally of non specific flu-like symptoms (feeling lousy, headache, neck swelling, fever etc). The terence higgins trust provides more information, they have a website, try searching for it in google.
