i had to take my daughter to hospital on friday because she was struggling to breath. they gave her an inhaler and told me she has a viral induced wheeze, its just under her right lung. does any one know what his means and will she need an inhaler all the time now? thank you

You really should be discussing this with your GP who will know the full background and current history.

Over half of all pre-school children have an attack of viral induced wheezing. It may clear up entirely in a relatively short time, never to return - as it does in most cases. It may lead to asthma.

If it does clear up permanently then she won't be on the inhaler long term.

Make an appointment with your GP.

thank you will take her tomorrow should have asked at hte hospital really but you odnt always think at the time thanks again

In agreement with Ethel here lindsaykav. Make an appointment with your GP. My Daughter took my Grandaughter to the GP last week with similar symptoms....the GP didn't want to rule out Asthma so referred her to the Hospital, they have taken a blood test, which my Daughter will get the results of by the end of this coming week, the hospital do think it's viral though. They also gave my Grandaughter an inhaler.
Try not to worry, but make that appointment with your GP. x
