i dont think alka seltzer contains paracetamol does it? if not it should be okay to take it whenever. Read the alka seltzer pack first though and check, cos im not totally sure.
If i have a banging headache i take 4 anadain extra washed down with diet coke. How bad am I....
Alka seltzer contains aspirin, no paracetamol.
Oh , you sound rough mandimoo , a couple of paracetamol shouldn't hurt . If it is the after effects of drinking then you may be a bit dehydrated , try to drink plenty fluids today .
Hope you soon feel better , and happy birthday for yesterday :-)

cheers guys, i cant read the packet cos i dont have it with me xx
Alka Seltzer XS contains both aspirin and paracetemol, so if you took this you should wait 4 hours before taking anymore paracetemol - means you're probably ok to take it in a few mins.

Forget it, the pubs are nearly open - get straight back on the pop

port and brandy for mandi
yes please!
The adult dosage for paracetamol is 2 x 500mg 4 times a day at intervals of 4-6 hours. The maximum total dose of paracetamol in 24hrs is 4g (4000mg). Exceeding this amount regularly can lead to liver damage. It is safe to take aspirin or ibuprofen with or in between paracetamol doses but you must NOT take aspirin AND ibuprofen together. Aspirin and ibuprofen have the benefit of anti-inflammatory properties that paracetamol doesn't. However they all have analgesic (pain relief) and anti-pyretic (lowering of high body temperature) effects. It is important not to exceed the recommended daily dose of aspirin and ibuprofen too as this may lead to damage, and possible bleeding, of the stomach lining.

I hope that this information is useful for future reference to help you to choose your pain relief to suit your symptoms. Sorry I went off on one! It's just that I have seen so many people overdosing themselves on pain killers. It's all too easy when you are feeling terrible.
