News report there on the Foot & Mouth outbreak saying it may have been caused by faulty drains at the nearby lab. What was the name of the expert discussing it? Mr Plumb lol

Hi Weeal, nice topical name there! By the way thanks for your answer to my madeline question. Going back to this post on a more serious note, I saw that news article and was astounded that they could allow this kind of lab to fall into any kind of disrepair, regardless of if they consider the decay to be serious or not!
Sorry, meant madeline post not question! Just trying to confuse you!!

Hi sue11, no problem re the maddy post, its a sore subject isnt it.

Yeah the lab, its shocking considering the 'type' of waste which has leaked, goodness know what else. Businesses are getting really careless with such things, look how many cases of e.coli etc that erupt from supermarkets (my local one recently where 1 person died).
Hi weeal, definately a sore subject, which is why I was so pleased that everyone was mostly giving very balanced views!
Agree a bit frightening with what could be being leaked out of labs by others carelessness.
Nasty about the coli, was it the fault of the supermarket?
A friends husband got food poisoning from eating chicken, he ended up in hospital for a week or so and it took months for him to recover. They were on holiday at the time, but the food poisoning came from the dish my friend had cooked a week ago at home, my friend had not cooked the chicken properly! Don't think she meant to kill him though! He now insists on doing the cooking himself!

Hi, no wonder he insists on cooking himself lol. Chicken can be dodgy tho isnt it.
My local terror was the recent Morrisons supermarket which had sold dodgy cooked meat, 1 lady died and her husband was seriously ill, there were others ill too.

There was also the recent case of the Glasgow business which blew up cos they hadnt replaced a faulty bit of pipe. Some businesses just want to make money, not spend it.
Evening weeal , not as serious as what I have just read but the last time my son visited we bought a ready cooked chicken from the supermarket to make sandwiches .Well it wasn't too long before we were both feeling rather icky and we could only put it down to the "cooked" chicken :-(

chicken seems to be the common problem, I find it hard to trust supermarket 'cooking'. My colleague at work said a guy at the meat counter went to serve her after lifting a dirty cloth and she gave him verbal abuse for it.
