You can eat them raw but the absolute best way IMO is to roast them with red pepper, garlic and onion; put into a pan with stock, fresh basil and fennel, a couple of dried chilli flakes, sugar, pepper and a little salt. Simmer gently until cooked, liquidise and strain. Add some small pasta shapes and cook for 5 minutes. Wonderful homemade soup to die for.

We have a bell pepper ready for picking, our cougrettes were a disaster, however the cyanne peppers were good & hot. There's a load of Scotch Bonnet on the go but I'm not sure about them as I've heard they're very hot!
jay - If Mrs LL eats any more tomatoes, she will change into them. My favourites have been the little yellow ones. They never make it out of the greenhouse!!

We have been scoffing tomatoes for about 6 weeks now and also have loads of cayenne peppers, which I am giving away. We have enough apples to feed the whole of Norfolk, loads of beetroots, but the runner beans are now finished. Courgettes haven't done well this year. Bell peppers haven't been that great, but have a few now ripening. Overloaded with white and red onions.

Red. Thanks for the info.
I think you may well miss out on tomatoes this year!!!
