I have got really white-blonde hair and get loads of attention from guys, even if they are just driving buy! It's happened for years and I have even considered dying my hair dark to see if it makes a difference. Are guys just immediately attracted to blondes and if so why is it??

gentlemen prefer blondes as they know that blondes have more fun.
Hi linz, I'm a blonde too and you should go dark, even ifd it's a for a while just to see the difference. I have been blonde since i was about 15 (nearly ten years) and dyed my hair brown a couple of years ago and the reaction is SOOO different. I got taken more seriously, looked at less, flirted with less, and people who i hardly knew felt compelled to come and tell me they preferred me as a blonde. i went blonde about six months later again and probably wouldn't go back, it made me feel invisible, bloke definitely think you;re more fun but that can be bad as they also think you;re always 'up for it' if you *coughs* know what i mean!! believe me, it makes a massive difference, it's fun - but not forever..
My middle daughter was white blonde until her teens, and she has also noticed now her 'immediate impact' lessened as her hair darkened as she got into ther twenties. My youngest daughter's best friend, who is fifteen, is 'enjoying' the attention her hair colour gets (not!) but as to why blondes attract so much attention, I can only put it down to something hormoneal in the male psyche. I admit i will always notice and look at a blonde, although I prefer dark women from choice, and yes i think men are attracted to blondes, but I can only think it is instinctive - I don't believe it has to do with the 'blondes have more fun' angle.
It must be an illusion, you're making a mistake, because people can't 'drive buy'. It's well know though that young male drivers just can't keep their eyes off bad spelling, so maybe you're right.
There definately is a difference for me! I was naturally blonde for 20 years, then as soon as i got pregnant it went really dark! Just didn't feel right, I kept thinking blonde jokes were about me when they weren't! I have recently gone blonde again and I am getting attention even with a baby strapped to my back! Whether it's because I feel better as a blonde (and possibly look more confident) or if blokes really do prefer blonde I don't know, but i do know i have felt a difference.
are any men honestly admitting that they are so mind bogglingly shallow as to be affect by hair colour?????

I forthwith hand in my male membership card if this is the case.......

Errrrr. No comment ..... Oh dam another bumber dented.
oh come on sft are you honestly and innocently saying you don't think the ladies hair colour is an issue for men?
It is quite true yes that blonde women tend to be seen by men as being dumb blondes (who see the be-all-and-end-all of life as attracting a man for themselves hence males being immediately attracted to them thinking they are "easy"), brunettes are intelligent and less easy to "pull" (sorry for the crude expressions here), red heads are fiery creatures with short tempers.
before everyone starts taking a verbal swing at mr vader here on moral and social issues i don't advocate this stereotyping myself i am simply answering Linz's question as to why guys are immediately attracted to blondes
Hi, Im blonde and i dyed my hair brown a wee while back, when i was blonde i got a lot of attention, when i went brown it was soo differant, i did totally feel invisable, no one looked at me, i found it really strange, but i went back to blonde and things went back to normal, i would never go dark again, blondes definetly do have more fun.
It's based in scientific theory! Blonde hair attracts more light therefore is more attractive to the eye. Nearly white hair is unusual and creates a halo effect catching the human eye. The colour is more attractive to the human eye - not necessarily the person and their qualities. It is purely aesthetic. In addition, engrained beliefs regarding hair colour are perpetuated by the media, stereotypes, etc. We *believe* that blonde hair makes us more attractive - therefore, we are act more attractive, fun, etc. Light hair also makes you feel 'lighter' as you are, indeed, attracting more light - the connotations of light? Laid-back, fun, irresponsible, frivolous and lacking depth.

OK POADSTER, DRIVE 'BY' ... IS THAT BETTER? GOD WHAT ARE YOU ?? BY THE WAY, YOU MISSED OFF 'T ' AT THE END OF THOUGHT!!! AND WOMEN DEFINITELY AREN'T ATTRACTED TO MALE BAD SPELLERS SO SORT IT OUT!!

OR SHOULD I SAY THE LETTER 'N' AT THE END OF KNOWN!!
I disagree with the thought that blondes attract attention because they're seen as being more fun/easy whatever. I think it's simply because they're more unusual. The majority of people in the UK have dark hair, so anyone who has blonde or ginger hair attracts attention more because it's different. Anyway, I'm brunette and I have never felt over looked or ignored. My boyfriend prefers brunettes (and he's not just saying it, his ex's are brunettes too) because he says they're more mysterious and sensual and tend to be that bit wilder in private ;)

I don't think that men see blondes as 'unusual' at all, otherwise men wouldn't whistle etc! Besides there are far too many blondes around for it to be unusual! All my ex's preferred blondes as for some reason they found them more sexy, and thats natural blondes not bleaches!
My absolute favorite is jet black hair and if she has very, very dark almost black eyes ........ gee I just go weak at the knees.
According to a really bad book called "Why Men Don't Listen and Women Can't Read Maps" (Allan and Barbara Pease), men are instinctively drawn to blondes whether they like it or not. And it apparantly goes back to cavemen days and blonde locks are a sign of femininity. I also think it's important to point out that it may be all in the mind, Linz as other people have suggested. The "experiment" cannot be objective unless you are unaware of your hair colour. You may be (albeit subconsciously) expecting men to look at you more as a blonde, so "notice" it more. Plus, you don't know why they're looking at you. I doubt this is true and I don't want to offend you, but you don't know if a guy is looking at you because he thinks you look odd, rather than because he finds you attractive. And anyway, it works both ways: every time I lose weight, girls look at me more.
I don't prefer blondes - I like my brunettes
i'm not blond (well a few bits - i have wanky fashion hair) and usually prefere dark haired men. and i get a lot of male (and sometimes female) attention. it's more of a confidence thing i think.
it isn't blondes who have fun: I'm of mixed race (west indian / dutch) with biiig hair.trust me i get the same amount of attention even when i'm in jogging bottoms doing nothing in particular. perhaps hair colour has nothing to do with it: maybe you are just an attractive person. the question is do these people the same once they get to know you a bit more personally or do they have pre-conceptions about you. i say just go and enjoy......
