I've recently been doing-up an office block. While I was there a get well soon card came round & I was asked to sign it. The card was for a woman who'd just had a hysterectomy, & I put "I never knew you could wear one out ".Apparently the woman has gone apesh1t, & has reported me to her boss! Do all office- wallers have a sense of humour by-pass?

well I can see her point but I'd be annoyed getting a bloody get well card for it
Are all builders insensitive, unthinking asses?

no, not all of them, i thought that was quite funny!
Perhaps if it was someone you knew well and who knew your sense of humour you may have got away with it.

A hysterectomy is not a minor op and the womb etc is to most women a huge part of their being. It not something you can joke about with someone you dont even know.

Perhaps you should apologise for your lack of tact in this case.
Not very sensitive.

She could have had the op for a number of reasons, none of them very nice.
It is rather insensitive. Some women who have this operation take a long time to sort themselves out emotionally. If you knew the complexity of a womans internal bits and how messing around with it all affects their hormones you might not have written that.
but did you mean wear (clothes) or wear (deteriorate) ??
a little comment like that would have cheered me up if i was feeling like cr@p after having an op like that, but hey thats my sense of humour
;-)

I gather she was a member of the local church & on the PCC.I've also apologised to her.BTW the blokes in the office thought it was hilarious.
yer well blokes dont go through it really do they, not emotionally. I'd probably laugh if a close friend said it, but it is quite insensitive
As has already been said it depends on why she had the operation too.

A friend of mine was ecstatic at having her hysterectomy. She was delighted that they had ''Taken away the nursery but left the playground intact'' as she put it.

However I also know of a woman who had the same op and was never the same again ~ she couldn't cope with the fact that she was ''No longer a woman''.

It pays to know someone before making jokes.
You never know Carrust, maybe if you get to a point where you have to have your testicles removed she can return the humour?
is carrust a bloke?

At least you didn't sh1t in the M.D's toilet
It could have been far worse. You could have stirred the tea with the coffee spoon.
