Morning, this a touchy question, but need some feedback from non family members.
granddaughter has three children, 8 years,6 years,2 years. she then gives birth to baby girl, healthy etc. after three days the baby is found to have a red mark on her arm about 30cm long.
she has read somewhere that leukaemia can cause this, so she goes to the hospital. they examine, decide its a injury, call police, social services. the baby is kept in hospital for its safety.
the parents are not allowed to have baby at home, but all other kids, including 2 year old were not examined. baby returns home with safety procedure in place, which was that two people had to stay in house with parents all time, they are not allowed to be alone with baby. three weeks later, a "pinch" mark was found on baby thigh area, so grandaughter suspects partner and goes back to hospital. Baby kept in for three weeks, all three other children removed from mother and homed with relatives. Owing to incorrect procedure and lack of staff, granddaughter was not allowed to see her children for 4 weeks. Now the two older ones are back with her, but she only sees younger ones for 2 hours a week. that started in February, now case gone to court and because they have to interview people they want to put the younger ones into the foster care system with strangers until at least January, next year. They are supposed to try to keep children with relatives, but the rules have stopped any chance of that,as you need to be assessed as foster parent, which means house big enough, no big dogs, finances checked, all relatives checked, i'm too old at 75 and might " blackout", garden must be safe, and loads more, you have to sit in front of panel for hours. Very few will pass.
What effect will this have on the children? there is no historic abuse. I must add that the baby was subjected to 400 x-rays plus MRI scan, all clear. The big boss of social , Isabelle Trowler, was on radio with esther ranzen a few weeks ago, saying changes need to be made as the taking of children is causing trauma in children and parent and the whole system needs updating.
So, how do I contact the esther ranzen team,( not child line, I think) and was removal of children for 4 weeks without contact, and no evidence or court case etc. legal or a human rights case? I need to get these two babies kept at least with relatives if not their mother.
The original two social worker women were taken off of the case after two weeks and the case handed to a different area team. the reason why is a secret, but I did mention to another, later social worker that the first one was recording me without telling me.The court cases are totally private, no jury, just an all women social team saying what they think should happen, and judge agreeing. all children were kept in care with relatives until first court case, where judge said he wanted the two older ones to go back to mum, as soon as possible, which took a further two weeks for the paperwork to be completed. The first mark on baby went totally after two days, the second mark was either a popper that caught the babies skin, or, both marks may have been caused by the two year old, as she is very, very hyperactive and we have to never leave her alone with the baby as she treats her like a doll and would poke her with a toy, etc. Any injury to a non mobile child needs investigating, but these marks were regarded as insignificant by several medical people.
your views and any advice really needed, we have two weeks to find a way to save this family from being broken up. Think how you would feel if your children or grandchildren were going to be given to strangers, if their mum rings my phone, the two year old shouts, mummy, mummy, and gets excited, grabs the phone and stares at it, and laughs when she hears her voice. Heartbreaking.

Social services cant just ignore it. Maybe there over reacting but often they are right or dont take it serious enough til it's too late. Ask a solicitor or for a case review
Esther Rantzen is only involved with Child Line and Silver Line as far as I know. I don't know of any team that she has that can help in this situation
Given what you say it is very possible the 2year old is responsible for the marks. Not unusual or abnormal if this is the case. I would advise consulting a lawyer specialising in family law for advice
You said the granddaughter suspected the partner is this a consideration
