That is the question! I'm torn..

I'm probably in the minority when I say I'm not on Facebook...the argument if i get an account I can keep in touch with people I've lost touch with etc and could be a bit of fun BUT I'm not entirely sure its all it seems...whats the general consensus peeps?

Hi johnlambert , you still there , addy is , I think this is the addy anyway , www.myspace.com/teretich , not long ago set it up so hope you find it ok :-)
I really like Facebook - much easier to use than myspace and has meant that I've got back in touch with people I lost contact with from University etc. Downsides is that it is easy to see what exes are up to which has turned some people into cyberstalkers.

Also, I heard that one guy who was engaged, let his fiancee know that he didn't want to be with her anymore by changing his relationship status to 'single' which I think is very harsh!

But on the whole, I like it.
I am not in favour of such sites If you want a bad example look at how the rusky abuses such a site. Soft porn licence really.
Saves money on texts when we're organising stuff! I'm a poor student you see....

Loosing touch with friends...I think thats a totally realistic thing to happen and it has but that isn't the issue.

My thought exactly
Dj, I use myspace and facebook. I prefer myspace by a country mile but facebook is more functional for finding people you have lost contact with.
I'm not really a reverand lol
I'm not made of china.
Cant find you mamma, can you try my URL in google and add me? its myspace.com/brit_medic
But are you a doll lol
Whoops... No! I'm not that either LOL!
Lol , I weigh 6 st 4 so I guess nothing big about me really , sorry :-) x
A friend in New Zealand sent me an invite for Facebook and so I created a profile. My wife quite likes it for messaging and seeing what old friends look like and are up to. The sites are there to be used how and as much as you like, and if you dont want to use them then you dont have to. I am not really bothered enough to keep up with the sites and things like Myspace et al just seems like desperate attention seeking (look how many friends Ive got) to me, but each to their own.
I was invited to join by my cousin and have done but find it a little bit juvenile and silly. However I'm concerned about security as info within your profile can be seen bypeople you don't know and could be used fraudulently. Also it isn't made clear that messages to and from members could be read by others unless marked private.
Hi

I am a avid facebook user and love it!!

Re the privacy bit the simple answer is don't put any personal info on, it is all optional! You can also change your settings so nothing can be seen by anyone unless you add them as a friend! And having a photo is optional as well!!!!
I prefer Facebook over MySpace as its less prone to idiotic morons hiding behind aliases and using offensive material. The only let down is that you probably have regular contact with most people you've added anyway. I've been on there for 3 weeks and got in contact with no less than 3 class mates and a few people I've lost contact with over the years. Those rubbish quizzes, surveys and pointless applications that your friends invite you to join can get a bit tiresome too. Its not really good for searching for female classmates to as you only know their maiden names!
I have a Myspace,Bebo and Facebook and I find Facebook to be the best. You can do soooooo much more on there and it's like FriendsReunited without having to pay. I have over 150 friends on there now and they are all people I know and went to school with and stuff. I love it. I am back in touch with loads of people, even getting on well with a guy I used to like and he only lives about 1min away but we lost touch and now we go out together, email eachother all the time and I think he is coming round for dinner this week. It's so cool. You have to do it. You won't know until you do and if you don't like it, you can just cancel your account.
get bebo
