I realised this morning that I spend a lot of time and money on buying the right make-up and beauty products, just so that I can apply my make-up perfectly to give me a flawless, natural look. It literally is an art form in its own right!!

I'm very lucky in that I can wear a lot of make-up but look like i'm hardly wearing any.

Does anybody else go to the same lengths to look like a natural beauty?

It's not the same look when you have no make-up on. It's capturing that 'glow' that you sometimes get naturally and recreating it with make-up.

I am a natural beauty!
Nope, I only wear make-up if I am going out, or for "special occasions"! Don't have time or inclination to sit at mirror every morning ensuring a flawless finish. Luckily my skin doesn't need much covering up. I am sure I would look far prettier with make up, but I just can't be @rsed!

Do we wear make up for ourselves, or others?

I dont wear any make-up through the day at all. I feel that if I do that I never feel any different when going out at weekends.
Exactly, 4get. What's the occasion if your face is always slathered in cr*p?!

Just noticed an advert down the side of this page, imploring us to "flirt with Tampax"...oh, how I am laughing!

Wash, moisturise, Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, a few bits of concealer, mascara and a bit of lippy. 2 minutes max!!! That's if going out!!! Otherwise zilch. I do have my brows and lashes dyed.
And I bet it isnt flawless when you in the sunshine, anyone that uses a lot of foundation and make-up always seems to have a tide line
i always wear make up, always have.

I dont have it slathered all over my face and end up looking like Barbara Cartland on a bad day though ! ;-) i hope lol

One thing i very rarely use in the day though is lippy and if im going out then i make more effort with it.

It only takes me 5 mins in the morning so its not too much effort. Just don't feel right without it.
Yeah, I'm the same, I look better with make up on but can get away without any soI don't see the point of wearing it everyday. Like 4getmenot I like to actually look different when I am out to how I look sitting in the office.
I have always hated foundation, yuk!!!
I cleanse, tone and moisturise every day, but makeup is a step to far except at the weekend.
surely the natural look is just that, natural

Any woman who has a foundation 'tide line' and doesn't look flawless in the sun isn't buying the right foundation. The simple rule with make-up is: BLEND!!

I only recently started wearing foundation. I went through a phase about 4 months ago where I stopped wearing make-up to work and it was really difficult to look like a professional when my hair and make-up didn't match the look!! So I decided to turn over a new leaf and make a conscious effort. I invested in professional make-up brushes, got the right foundation for me, and wear natural colours that compliment my skin tone for a natural 'day' look.

I was using a lovely tinted moisturiser for a while but found that in the sunshine my face was becoming quite 'dewy' looking. I needed to even up, so now use a foundation which I make go a long way!! My freckles show, but the tiniest amount of foundation applied thinly with a brush gives me porcelain looking skin.

Now all I need to do is sort me barnet out....
Well, well done on your porcelain skin
But how do you make yourself feel different when you go out on the town? Most of the excitement of going out to me is dressing up beforehand

as you said 4get, its dressing up, a little more time spent on your hair and make-up. Different sort of colours etc....

I always feel like i look better on a night out. Its not just the fact that you wear make-up, its the whole package.
In summer I have quite a few freckles come out across my nose and under eyes, how would you put foundation on then, because you'd be able to notice it
although have never understood girls doing there lippy in night club toilets, I hjave said before 'its dark in there you cant see it!'
I never leave the house without some make-up on. Not in a Jordan, put on with a trowel effect but just enough so I feel happy about my skin. I have red blotchy skin which I am quite paranoid about so I put enough foundation on to cover it and then some mascara so that my eyes stand out a bit and some clear lip gloss for my lips. When I am going out or want something a bit special, I can then put on some eyeshadow, bronzer and lippie and look completely different.
Surely, even if you only use a light moisturiser, if you use it regularly you are stopping the skins pores performing their natural function?

I can understand you, however, wishing to look 'professional' in your job. One thing I could never do is look 'professional' and spend time doing it I just feel so uncomfortable being dressed up and made up, but must admit some women look terrific each day and I admire them for their effort but have never aspired to do the same.
