Just heard "if you could read my mind" by gordon Lightfoot on Radio2 and it brought back many memories of my mis-spent youth before I joined the Army. What song/s bring back your good memories?
TIA

Any track off the Rolling Stones Hot Rocks album reminds me of being caught in a snow storm on Dartmoor in my Ford Zodiac and listening to my 8 track!!

Those were the days!!
Oh gosh, too many for different periods of my life.

Did you know that Lightfoot filed a lawsuit against Michael Masser in 1987, claiming that Masser's melody for the song "The Greatest Love of All" (recorded by George Benson and Whitney Houston) stole twenty-four bars from that song?

Lightfoot stated that he didn't want people thinking that he had stolen his melody from Masser. The case was settled out of court, with a public apology from Michael Masser.

This one for me, Jeffson Airplain:

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all.
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall.
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall,
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call.
Call Alice
When she was just small.
When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go

Oh legend THANK YOU for the Imagination link...reminds me of being 13 years old and going to the fairground with my mates, youth club discos etc....aaaaaaaaaaah.

'Dancing Queen' by ABBA reminds me of being in the later stages of primary school..those halcyon days!

'Long Hot Summer' by The Style Council takes me back to the long hot summer of 1984..picnics in the woods with my first boyfriend *sigh*
The Day We Caught The Train in paticular and any other Ocean Colour Scene song from their first 3 albums and any song from Oasis's first two albums bring back happy/nostalgic memories of being a care free teenager. I now know songs and bands who I think are a whole lot better but I will always remember with affection my teenage obssession with these bands!
Dnacing in my mums hall to The heart of a teenage girl on her portabal record player
The Chicken Song by Spitting Image and the daily 3rd year reenactment at dinner break.

Abba Gold - good times with first love.

Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics - even better times with Mrs OBonio

Hole in my shoe by Neil - Some random holiday to Cromer in the early 80s...
