Any recommendations of a good club or bar in the south east?

i have got to arrange a night out for 35 people in Surrey/west Sussex/essex/london area and have to pick a venue. Now although i know what i like i dont know what 35 people will like (pulling my hair out).

Can anyone recommend a good club or bar for music of the R'n'B/Cheese type crowd. (i hate both these music types so already we have the 1st casualty).
