I am sad at the moment as I seem to have lost my gold signet ring that my sister bought for me for my 16th birthday .It has hardly left my finger since but now its gone.
Is there any possession of yours that would make you upset to lose ?

yes I always wear a bracelet that I bought my nan for her birthday then when she passed on I got it back. I got it stuck down drain in pool last week, there I was stuck in deep end while lifeguard got his tool box out to free me because I didnt want them to break it.
Hi Bigmamma,

My mum bought me a beautiful solid gold cross and i loved it.

I had it around 5 years and never took it off.

I went to see a band at Plug nightclub in Sheffield one night and lost it there.

I called them the day after and they said they would call me if it was ever found and they never.

Someone will be happily wearing it around their neck right now.

I so miss it :-(

It meant laods to me too..

I hope you find your ring

For me I think it would be losing my photos, especially ones of my daughter as a baby as they can never be replaced.

I'm so sorry to hear that bigmamma & know exactly how you feel.

Sadly, my husband's Mum died when he was only 14 & she was just 44 years of age.

When we got married, his Nan gave me two of his Mum's gold signet rings which I wore on my little fingers. One in particular had his Mum's initials 'SMB' on it, which his Nan had bought her as a young girl.

Anyway, we were on holiday quite a few years back & I took both rings off & placed them on top of the swimming pool shower unit, as I didn't want them to slip off. Later that day, I realised what I'd done & heart thumping, rushed back to get them - alas, they were gone & were lost forever.

It took me a very long time to get over that I can tell you, as I felt so guilty at not just one ring, but two - I still think about it now.

I do hope your signet ring turns up BM.....
Hello bigmamma darlin
Thats a shame, but can I tell you some thing silly that has worked for me,my family and friends lots of time,(now dont laugh every one)

Get a dressmaking pin,
stick it into the chair you sit on the most,
hold it still and say three times
"I pin the devil for the return of my gold ring"

Honestly bigmamma I have found loads of things I lost in the house, wether it is coincedence or not (probably) I dont know.

hope you find itsoon

I really feel for you bigmamma, I comletely sympathise
My mum left her engagement ring in the ladies at the Clifton Hotel in Blackpool in 1962 at my Great Aunt's 25th Wedding anniversary , it was only relatives at the do too, she didn't tell my Dad for many many years, if ever actually now i think of it, she never forgot though and was devastated.
In 1979 my charm bracelet was stolen from my house, it was my 21st present from my family, and it had 14 charms on it, I will never forget that, and when we were moving here, the day we moved, my engagement ring was stolen from my old house :( I don't really wear jewellery now, i keep it well hidden.
Hi again bigmamma - not sure if you or your son drive, but wondering if your precious ring could be in the footwell or down the sides of your car seats?

Just a thought. -xx-

Baby JAne, I thought to myself, I must give that a try as Ive lost so many things in this house.........but cant for the life of me remember anything I have lost! lol

Does it work on memories?
I lost mine bigmamma or should i say someone stole it!

I had a ring that my Dad gave me before he died, he told me to always look after it which i did. He died about a year or so later. One night i was going out and i took the ring off and put on a different one for a change, the first time since he'd given it to me.

I got home to my Mum telling me that we had been burgled. It was the first thing i went to look for and the box it was in was there. I was so relived until i looked in it and it was empty!

That was about 20 odd years ago now but i still feel sad when i think about it! It wasnt an expenisive ring, far from it but its value to me was pricless! :-(

Dot , no wonder you keep it hidden , you poor soul , your charm bracelet and ring.
Well Baby Jane , I will give that a try love , anything to help get it back, as long as I don't actually end up sitting on the pin. :-)

Oh, unrulyjulie - that really made me cry. -x-

In fact all these stories tug at the heart strings....

My husbands mother ( I never met her) lost her wedding ring whilst gardening she never found it after searching for ages. Some years later whilst gardening again she found it but it turned up in a different place than where she thought she'd lost it.
