Does anybody know if it's ok to use sunbeds if you have metal plates or pins in your body?

I badly broke my arm just under 2 years ago and had to have an operation to get it pinned, and a metal plate inserted.

I'm going to Turkey in August and would like a few sunbeds before I go to get my skin used to the sun, but I don't know if this is safe with my metal pins and plate?

I'd appreciate any answers.

A friend who runs a tanning salon advises that the playes will not cause any problem.

The only problem you may have encountered is with fresh scar tissue, which apparently can turn purple under UV rays.

Since your scar tissue is two years old, you should have no problems - apart from the standard warnings about sunbed use and skin cancer.
It is 50 degrees in Turkey apparently this week, you may need a few more sessions than u thought! I go on the 29th to Alanya, hope it cools down a bit first though. I am taking factor 30 suncream but may just get some higher factor b4 we go.
No problem, just as likely to get skin cancer as anyone else, the price of vanity!! and yes ive done it myself!!
