I was discussing the future with a close friend... and he made me realise how badly I would like a family in the future.
Yet I'm quite scared of kids...
Is that strange do you think?

I have two children, and they still scare the living daylights out of me!!

Sorry, that wasn't very helpful of me was it?! I think you're normal, being scared of kids before you have any, but when you start thinking of trying for a family you'll be scared you won't be able to have any. With one on the way, you'll be scared of pregnancy and complications, then scared of childbirth. When little one is here, you'll be scared you're doing things wrong, then scared of leaving them at nursery, scared that they'll get hurt when you're not with them at school, or that they'll fall in with a bad crowd, or that they'll elope and never visit when you're old.

The list is endless - the short answer is no, you're not strange at all!! It's always scary, but it's totally fantastic and you'll never regret having children, ever. :o)

Your own children will be perfect little wonders, well behaved, polite, never a problem, quiet...... it's everyone elses who scare you!!!!!
i will lend you mine for a few weeks . then you will know what scared and stress is lol
Nutgone beat me to it , but I have three!

I don't think you are strange, other peoples kids scare me too tho'. Think of it as a lifelong adrenalin rush, a game where there are multiple players and not too many set rules! Kids aren't for everyone - do what suits you, adopt a Gran or Granda entering their second childhood as a practice run ( joke )
Little girls scare me rigid, but I am quite happy with little boys of all types! Just as well I have 2 boys. My husband gets creeped out by twins - he hates the way that they look alike but are different people - see, and you think you are strange!
You notice, Silversky, that it's people with kids who infer that's it's 'not really scary or stressful' in the long run to have kids? They more or less have to say that don't they: they can't send them back! What's really less scary and less stressful is not to have any:)
