Mr Spudqueen now uses ear plugs when swimming, in the bath or in the shower. Only way to stop it I think. He went to the Docs who sent him to the hospital (ear, nose & throat dept) and he now has to go every 6 months for them to keep an eye on it.

I find ear plugs irritate it, I have to plug my ears with vaseline for swimming but then after I have to go mad with an ear bud getting it all out.
Hi Goodsoulette
I have suffered from swimmers ear since we returned from Turkey 18 months ago.
It drives me nuts but I did go back to see my GP who gave me an ointment. I use it very sparingly. It is called Tri - Adcortyl Ointment and only available on prescription. I hate having to use it and ear plugs do not work for me, so it is the lesser of two evils.
Hope you feel better soon,.

Sorry I should have stated I have tried the oinments and they work but they are steroid based and I am permanently using one or the other. I find gentomycin to be the best one.
