Both dwarfs and midgets are short; however, a dwarf - to be a little technical about it - suffers from achondroplasia. This means that all four limbs are shorter than normal, but the head and body are of more or less normal size.

A midget has no such 'deformity', if you wish to call it that. In other words, all parts are in proportion to each other, but they are simply extremely small. I do not believe there are any specific 'heights' that apply.

Ages ago I read that the height limit is anybody under 4feet 8 inches. But I can't remember where I read it, and I think it was just an arbitrary cut-off point with no basis in any particular medical reason or definition.
