thats kinda what i called the wife but with a few stronger words hahaha.

are you still smoking or have you quit again??
If she gave up for 5 years she can do it again.

Lot's of encouragement :-)
No, still puffing away, though I did switch to roll ups. Never been a heavy smoker though, only on 5th one today, but can smoke more if stressed!! or on the vino!
Question Author
thanks for that.... although it may not sound like it, i am actually supporting her. She is a sucker for the vino too!
My kinda bird !!!!

In a girl way :-)
vino and ciggies go hand in hand with me.

btw, I gave up with no problems, just stopped. The only reason I started was because I had a very stressful time (my excuse) But I blame my friend who I worked with who offered me a silk cut... It was downhill from there lol
I give up every 6 months or so for about a month then start again, I only smoke about 10 a day, unless i`m having a drink, then its 10 an hour
Elvis, I am the same. Maybe we should give up drinking!
I'm gonna give up soon.....hopefully !!
What smoking or drinking ummmm?
Question Author
As liam gallager crooned out " all i need is cigarettes and alcohol"

good enough advice for me

PS. Dont drink or smoke kids lol!!
Give up drinking?...no thanks
Just smoking Trinny......

Fags that is !!!!!
I gave up for 8 years - truly felt like a non-smoker but then got a phone call to say that my mum had had a breakdown and was in hospital. Then proceeded to ransack the flat for a cig (my boyfriend smokes and he was out but I knew that there'd be some cigs somewhere) That was 3 years ago and I'm still smoking but getting close to the point where I want to give up again. The only thing is, I now feel that it's like being an alcoholic or having an eating disorder - you never really get over it - you just learn to live without cigs but at any point could come the crunch that makes you need them again.
My Gran stopped for 15 yrs then started again. Gave up successfully the second time.

I gave up when i had my first son 15 years ago, for 2 years and like a fool i started again. I gave up again with my second son 4 years ago and this time i have absolutely no intention of starting again, especially now its getting more difficult to light up without everyone on your case. No way could i go for a beer and not have a ciggie! the horror of that!!! lol Its not for me anymore! I do know people who have given up for 10 years or more and succumbed so its always there, just mind over matter i think.

My hubby gave up for 9 years then restarted (incidentally this was when he met me!) - he smoked for about 3 years then gave up using Allan Carrs easy way - he has not smoked since - that was about 8 years ago - so maybe he is coming up for a restart again! - I hope not though. When he restarted smoking all those years ago, he said to me - " I did something really stupid today" and I guessed that he had bought a pair of roller blades! Well, 8 years on he has now bought the roller blades, apparantly so that he can demonstate to our kids how to skate (so he says) I don't know what is worse, smoking or being a 45 year old man on a pair of roller blades!!! talk about a mid life crisis. LOL
