Where is the best place to go on a first date both in late 20s me taking her, cant think of anything other than the normal but though something different would be nice.

Do you have a funfair near you? Live near the seaside? That would be kinda a cool 1st date :o)
Failing that what's wrong with a romantic meal and walk afterwards and stopping at a little wine bar or coffee house? Depends on where you live I guess but don't think you can go wrong with a slap up meal in a nice restaurant for a 1st date :o)

Not the pictures, you can't get to know each other, you'll just sit side by side in stony silence for two hours, and it doesn't provide a talking point.
Not for a meal unless you want to see the poor cow agonise over what to pick so it won't make her look greedy / moneygrabbing / foolish when it sticks in her teeth / slops down her front. And it involves all the problems of who's paying, and how much of what to drink.
Not to a bar or club, chances are it'll be too loud / hot / imtimate and do you really want to make an impression surrounded by the competition?
I'd suggest doing something completely unusual that she won't forget in a hurry, such as going to the seaside / country and doing something daft like hiring a rowing boat / going to a fair / sphering. That way conversation will be easier, as you're both involved in an activity and have to interact. Doing something a little scary is good, she'll want to cling to you ;-)
