My fiancee is 8 weeks pregnant and has just finished a bottle of ginger ale, but she noticed that it was out of date on 6th october 06, even though i bought it yesterday.

I know i may be worrying about nothing but does anyone know if drinking ginger ale so far out of date can harm the baby?

If you're worried go speak to a medical professional asap! do not take advice for such important issues off a website.
the placenta screens out so many nasty things that Im sure an out of date fizzy drink will be fine.
Id take it back to shop and kick up a stink though, their stockchecking leaves a lot to be desired.
I am not a doctor, but if it tasted OK it should be OK. Last week in the news there were reports that we British waste far too much food. a large proportion of this was due to our ridiculous "out of date" and "best before" dates, that on the less perishable goods, i.e fizzy pop and not dairy etc, use.

I wouldn't worry. If the bottle was sealed bacteria couldn't grow in there anyway.
if your fiancee shows any sign of food poisoning then speak to your GP, any stomach pains should be dealt with by the EPU at your hospital
I totally agree with redcrx and Joe-the -lion. No need to panic. Unless there are symptoms such as nausea and vomiting there is no need to contact a medical professional, they will not do anything. If you are still really worried then call NHS24 and Im sure the nurse adviser will put your mind at rest.
sounds daft but could it have said 9,01,9 rather than 6,10,9??
just a thought, i know best before date can sometimes be written strangely

also a best before date is just a guide, not a use by.
