Hi all. My due date was yesterday 20th Jan and so far nothing's happening! I'm anxious and very uncomfortable and want my baby to be born as soon as.

The hospital told me they would'nt book me in for an induction for 10-12 days. I really don't want to be induced anyways and would rather go into labour naturally but i'm just fed up now, i can't move around, sleep and although last week i had pains every evening this week i have'nt had them, just a pressure type pain in my bottom and pelvic area.

I have read up that there's certain things you can try to help bring labour on ie; have a curry, have sex etc. As for the sex bit, i can't do that as i am single, through no fault of my own.

I'm not sure what i'm asking, i'm just so fed up now.

Thanks

Feel sorry for you chuck. I,m sure your little bundle of joy will be worth the wait. I had a 42 week pregnancy with both my boys. My midwife did suggest a hot curry and sex (not at the same time) but it didn,t work. Let us know how you get on!!
woops!! you already know about curry and sex!

Sorry, not 36 weeks, 39! I'm losing my mind! x
Some people swear by castor oil,but all it gave me was bad tummy ache & a rush to the loo!!!Also some say get spring cleaning all the exercise & stretching is supposed to work.Good Luck, let us know how you go on!!
i feel for you!
My locals hospitals policy is term plus 14 days before induction and i went to the 42 weeks before going in and had a further 3 days wait before my bundle decided to make an appearance.
When i was booked in it was found that i was contracting (painlessly) but the baby wasnt in the right position for the contractions to open the cervix.
Try getting onto your hands and knees. This helps get babys head onto your cervix. Try it 2 or 3 times a day for a few minutes.
It can also help to take long walks.
Another good one is to sit astride a high back chair, like a dining chair but face the back.
Obviously trust your own judgement and do not do any of these if you have any pelvic pain or SPD
just to add, that although it was not my choice, induction wasnt so bad. You could also ask your midwife to perform a sweep and see if that helps
Hi Stressed Out

My due date was the 17th January, and still no sign of Baby Picky. So I am obviously not able to offer any advice, but just thought I would say I know exactly how you feel, and I really hope things hurry up for both of us!!

Good luck, Love Picky x
i tried all the usual and ended up having a sweep to start me off!
just remembered another tip. Tweaking your nipples can encourage the contractions to start. It can take a while though
Hi stressed out. I am thinking of you, my daughter is due on the 5th feb and like you has been having bad pains and being very uncomfortable these past couple of weeks.also with the lower back/bottom pain. she was a week early with her second one and at the end she was very quick. wonder if she is going to be the same again. you never know you may be the same and then quick birth. fingers crossed for you. Brenda xx

Hi Stressed Out

How are you getting on? Any arrival yet? I am still waiting, as I said before, I was due the 17th and now I am getting pretty desperate.

I am booked in to be induced on Monday 29th and they have said they will do a c section if it doesn't work. I have had 2 sweeps now and nothing at all happened. I don't think Baby Picky wants to come out at all!

Hope everything is ok with you and good luck to you as well vickiesssss

Love Picky x
Or bless you, i feel for you soooo much. You sound just like me. They made me wait 9months and 2 whole weeks. I was so fed up, my partner wouldnt do sex cos he was scared! Couldnt get my trainers on because my feet swelled right up finger too - they were like sausages. So its just a waiting game now luv. I took myself into hopsital after a week and half over to make them start me off but they wouldnt!! But dont worry you'll soon have your body back and you'll be able to lay on your belly on the floor - yeehaa!!! Good luck luv, im thinking of you.
