This is a weird question but, I was wondering so thought i'd ask... I work in a call centre and for 8 hours a day I am answering the phone, call after call without so much as 5 seconds in between calls. We have a 10 minute break in the morning, 30 mins at lunch and another 10 in the afternoon. Anyway, recently, i am literally finding my brain aching and feeling bored to tears almost. Is it possible for your brain to do the same thinking proceedures and saying the same sentences over and over so you feel like it wants to shut down? This week is killing me! Is it bad for your brain? Is there any medical term for this feeling?

Thanks for any insightful replies!

I don't know any medical terms but I do believe it can happen.....My brain goes on auto pilate at least once a day. I've driven to the kids school quite a few times without meaning to, just because I was driving down a certain road....I'd get there and think 'what the fcuk am I doing here' daily activity takes over!!!
do you realise that its been association between head injury and Alzheimer's ?

a thought worth chewing over
btw ,i wouldn't recommend a call centre as suitable employment for anybody, not even my worst enemy

Working in a call centre has been associated with brain injury and alzheimer's?

I don't think i can work there any more. My brain needs more than that. I can't understand how some people have worked there over 10 years! The thought of that makes my brain hurt even more! I'm thinking of going to work in a nursery/infant school as that's what I qualified as- so it'd make sense really! But living in a small village, with one school and no job experience (apart from placement) it's difficult really.
