This is sadly happend to the 17 years old lad in Lancashire. now the father is dead so he has to contemplate life without his family (3 sisters and mum died yesterday in the fire ). What is a lad to do in such times. What hope is there for his medication to save him when fate has dealt such a cruel blow. Life is not fair is it?

It's awful, the poor poor think, I have to admit I shed a tear for him when I heard it on the news. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Imagine having to break the news to him, just unimaginable.
My first thought when I heard this story was how can anyone expect him to getter better now.
I dint know there was a son, and last I heard the dad was going to be questioned, is this the same fire?
I think so hon, he has died though now.

On the news this morning they said they wer enot looking for anyone else and something about a fire being lit outside each of the children's rooms.

Horrific.
Sorry, should say it's the father that died, not the son.
Depending on the cancer the treatment could really be quite effective but a strong componant for treating cancer is a positive attitude, how he can be expected to have that I don't know.

Poor lad, I can't imagine what he is going through and I just think that whatever I say sounds trite. Can not put in to words how much I feel for him.

No, life is not always fair but it's not meant to be I guess. Stories like this certainly make you count your blessings and put in to perspective your own cr@p.
Was the son not in the house?

The 17 year old son was in hospital receiving treatment for leukemia. the suspicion is that the father could not cope with his sons cancer and destroyed the whole family. what a tragedy.
jesus.. havent read this story. Lots of people will show their support and remaining family will rally around to support him, not to mention this poor lad is going to get a lot of support from around the world. Lets hope he can find abit of strength from the love that will be shown to him and take something positive and some hope from this awful situation he is in.
Why is it always fathers that do this?
Question Author
No no, its not just the fathers. remember the woman who jumped off the platform at an oncoming train at slough with her 2 children about 2 years ago. The sad part was that her distraught mother then jumped off the platform at the same spot 8 months later. The father of the children is now living his sad and pitiable life out somewhere in the punjab.
Question Author
the saddest part of the slough story was that the father was searching slough for his ex wife and children and driving around frantically as his mother in law had warned him that his ex wife had left the house with 2 children in a distraugh state. he actually pulled into slough station as his ex wife jumped. the poor father took one of his surviving children to hospital in his car. such is life.
So sad, I really think if I was this lad I would give up hope of wanting to live,I don't think I could go on without my family,it is such an awfull thing to happen,as China says a positive attitude is such a help i n the battle against Cancer, how can he remain positive?.
Hmmm, just to get it right, the suspicions arent that his son had a disease and couldnt cope. The actual suspicion is that the father killed them on purpose because his marriage was in turmoil. Apparently, his wife was seeing someone else...
I feel sorry for the daughters who wont have a life now. At least the son in hospital still has one.
Apparantly they were saying the son is terminally ill.

Just watching the news and they think it may be some kind of honour killing.
Your right Jenna. Apparently it is ok in the muslim culture to kill his wife if she is having an affair...
But why the children though? Not that killing any of them was ok.
Apparently....but the daughters?
Youre right its not always the father but most of the time it is the fathers and Id say this is because when parents split up most of the time the children stay with the mums. I have just seen the news and they said the dad has died, its a shame, not because hes dead but because he should live the rest of his life suffering! Those poor children and the thought of them being trapped makes it worse. So so sad.
It makes my problems today seem pathetic! What a terrible thing to happen. We will all have to send lots of good and loving thoughts his way.
