I rarely eat bread these days. I dont eat a lot of white foods, and it does make you feel better cutting them out. I started with no teating bread, now I dont eat potatoes (substitute with sweet potatoes or yam though) or white rice (although basmati is alright, I just choose not too. There is a lot of preservatives and salt in bread. If you are desperate for a sarnie, go for a wholemeal pitta bread or a wrap.
was it white bread? i think its better not to eat bread at all than to eat white bread, i stopped eating the stuff and started on brown and i felt much better.

Hi RB, good to see you back ;-)
im not good with any flour/wheat sort of products. They give my really bad attacks of acid reflux and consequently make me sick. I cut out carbs a few weeks back in order to lose weight and i felt better all round with no problems at all. Bread is not great in large amounts so i doubt it's paranoia on your part..Keep it up!
I have been trying to lose weight so I have nimble bread but don't eat very much of eat. I stopped eating proper bread because it caused me to have water retention and that made me feel bloated. As soon as I stopped eating it my weight started to go down and I feel so much better.

bread in this country has lots of additives and chemical added at the grinding stage of the Wheat. Wheat in Africa doesn't
I am totaly intollerant to bread here, but can eat it in France and in Africa. ...
hell of a way to go for a toastie or crispy bacon roll with mushrooms and mustard argggggghhhhh!

In 1986 the associtaion of undertakers in the good Ol Usa revealled that there were so many preservatives in what they were eating, bodies could last well over 6 weeks unattended before decaying at room temp.. nice....

MY other half went to the dietician this week, his big problem is eating bread. Apparently with bread, it depends on the type and the quantities you eat it in. If you eat whole grain or brown bread you'll find it fills you up for longer, whereas white bread will leave you wanting more.
We have switched recently from white bread to multi-seeded-batch loaves and what a difference we have felt. After eating white bread I always felt bloated and my tummy would actually get bigger ! Now I have no problem and even my 13 year old son loves it.
People who give up bread for a while(as I did once) usually lose a bit of weight and that may be making you feel good. Also too many carbs (especially with white bread )messes up your blood sugar levels. You may also have a slight wheat intolerance which could account for it.
Or maybe it's what you put on it normally like that inch thick butter layer..mmm....
