Hi folks, I didn't know where to put this question. does anyone know why some old women have a blue rinse. do they think is looks natural. why not red. at least then it would have some street cred. even a nice rich blue would be better. or even better why not just leave it grey or dye it blonde or brown. this is a serious question. ta

Can't give you an answer but it is something i've always wondered - why blue?
Maybe it's something that happens to you when you reach a certain age - you get an overwhelming desire for the colour blue!!
My nan used to have a tangerine / peach type rinse which made her look like Frency from Grease (only abot 50 years older). Now shes opts for the natural look which is that kind of blondey colour (like Easther Ranzten or Denise from This Morning). Dunno whether she dyes it or not, I don't think so, but I have always wondered about that.

Actually, Mrs. C's hairdresser says it is a diluted form of a blue dye applied to older women whose hair has turned primarily white (as opposed to grey) and the whiteness can appear yellowish in some light. the application of the diluted blue is supposed to make the white hair look more white... sort of blue-white. Problem is, if it's not applied professionally it can have an overt blue tint... or worse...

Thank you very much. thats great.
Blimey , I have'nt seen women with blue rinses for ages except for Mrs Slocombe of "Are you being served". I would think pensioners would have more to worry about than "Street Cred" hustle dont you?
