Sorry to be doom and gloom but I have a mole on my neck that I caught today and its been bleeding all day. It was bleeding really badly this morning and its slowed down now but its still bleeding and wont seem to heal over. I phoned the doctor and they booked me in for first thing tomorrow but Im worried about it. Is it likely they will just cut it out tomorrow and thats the end of it?
Thanks in advance

Yes they will probably laser it off, I had this done on a 'slightly smaller than a pea' sized mole under my arm, its fairly painless and would be good because you wont risk catching it again.

Thanks liquidspace. Im actually phobic about knives and scalpels and things so I think thats why its freaked me even more. Im hoping they laser it now hope it doesnt hurt too much Im a wuss !
They might use liquid nitrogen which just basically feels cold so its nothing to worry about. I had this done on my face twice too and its fine, no worries x
Why did u catch a mole?

The bleeding is probably down to the way in which you caught it.... were u using some kind of net...?

Stick a plaster on the wound and i think you're better off taking him to the vet.

(pppssst.....clubs opening in "help the drunk" - better get to work on time or pinky will have a right go!)
Moles on the neck and arms that hang so they can be caught (did it look a bit like a cocopop?) tend to be skin tags. Burning it off or freezing it off are the normal ways of dealing with these things. If there is anything to worry about, your doctor will might send a bit off for tests and will probably want to check any other moles you have.

Lol cheers nat !!! :O) Im heading over there now .. xx

Thanks again liquidspace thats helped chill me out x
I doubt the doctor will cut it out immediately, but I know when my hubby had a recurring problem of this nature, he made an appointment with the GP for a day or two later and had it removed under a small local. What the doctor may do is put a dressing on it until that can be done. When it has been removed, it will probably be sent away for routine testing - just to make sure it's benign.

If your GP does do it there and then, I should tell you that when hubby went to have his done, he was most definitely not looking forward to it - the removal or the test - he is a such a total wuss about these thing. However, he said it was easier than having a filling done and he didn't feel a thing beyond the anaesthetic injection. The doctor did the cutting with a sort of hot wire which cauterised the wound at the same time, so he didn't even need a stitch. He said there was a bit of a funny smell, and he felt a bit of pushing and pulling around the mole, but that was it. The test came back negative, which the doctor said is mostly the case.
So.........where you guys off to?........Im jealous!
