My husband suffers with IBS, not a very nice subject, goes to the loo a lot more often than normal, but his stomach is still bloated. You would think having this wold have the opposite effect and you would have a nice flat stomach. Anyone know why this is?

I would think it's because his stomach and intestines are reacting to whatever foods he's eating that irritate his bowels. Just because he goes to the toilet a lot doesn't mean he ought to have a flat stomach.
I have IBS and have the same problem with a bloated stomach and it doesn't matter how often you go, it's still there. I believe it's due to gatric juices and it causes a build up. Some things that may help the bloatedness or discomfort are peppermint tea or Colpermin caplets (peppermint oil capsules). He has my sympathies :o(
I have suffered for years, and could not go outside the house till after midday!!

It got so bad that I am now on Codeine Phosphate tablets and I can honestly say that my life has been turned around!
I can now eat what I want, go where I want and never have to worry about toilets again!!!
Does this sound like IBS? My bloke spends alot of time on the toilet from the moment he gets up, and is often late to work because of this. It only happens in the morning.
