Hi - I never know why men say this as it doesn't bother me in the slightest if the toilet seat is left up.I mean,do some women actually moan about this???
Me neither.

Stop living in the past, john. Us modern wimin have better things to worry about. Like the standard of our house-husbands' cleaning...
I can't recall any of the menfolk in my family actually leaving the seat up on the jon, john...lol

What I don't like to see tho, is on a tv prog where they are showing someone a house, enter the bathroom/toilet and the cameraman decides to show you the loo with the seat up! Put the bl00dy thing down first...lol

LOL Champers, it must only be Mrs john then, I'll have to drag her kicking and sceaming into the 19th Century
LOL!

It's not actually the seat the bothers me, more the lid being up! Gross.
its not the toilet seat that is the problem its "poor aiming"
It drives me absolutely nuts I have to admit. Once in a while is ok but one of me exes did it every time and it got my goat. It might have annoyed me more because he did my head in and was due for dumping though. Its the little things in life that make me go nana
I suppose some women don't like it because we have to touch the pi** covered seat to put it back down again!!! Why do you need to put it up in the first place though anyway?! If you wee on the seat just wipe it with loo roll...that's what we do...erm, when accidents happen sometimes! ;)
I wish my partner left it up, id rather that than what he does now....he pees all over the seat!
I don't like the seat being left up as when you guys flush, little droplets of moisture splash up from the bowl, spreading whatever was down there all around the room and I for one would rather not have p*ss over my bathroom surfaces.
And John, just because you are an ex-squaddie and used to doing all sorts of stuff all over the place, doesn't mean that you can leve the lid up, you're not in a field now! Leave Mrs John alone, I'm with her. My hubby is an exs squaddies too, he finished his time last year.
my house mate always buts the lid down.... BUT never flushes the sodding toilet - so think yourself lucky if its just the seat prob you are annoyed by
Well said johnlambert I had this same conversation with my wife the other day and got the normal totally incomprehensible illogical famale answer.
So long as the toilet seat is clean then it doesn't matter does it?

It's mens' ability to wee everywhere except the toilet bowl that bugs the hell outta me! And don't even get me started about using the toilet brush!!! Grrr....
Hi John, we are living in modern times now - a toilet seat left up does not bother me in the slightest - if thats all a woman has to worry about - I wish that was my only worry in life....!!
I hate the seat and cover being left up purely because we live in a bungalow and the bathroom is almost opposite the living room. Husband never shuts the door, so the last thing I want is to be able to see the loo with the seat up and as someone else says, it is not always flushed. I think he goes by the saying. If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown flush it down. GROSS!

I'm not so fussed about the leaving the toilet seat up, but I wonder why men are so averse to cleaning the toilet? (I suspect it's the mothers looking after them too well) I shared with my partner for years, and in that time I think he cleaned the toilet about 10 times, and most of them on a whim or because I'd made an issue of it!! (so petty, but it has to be done sometimes) ... but he did put the seat and lid down after using the toilet
I don't understand why people put the lid down. I always worry when lifting it 'cos you never know what's going to be under there.
i work in 'washroom product sales' and the reason to get upset about the seat being left up, is because of something called 'the sneeze' effect. When the toilet flushes, if the seat is up, tiny microscopic particles of ecoli, bacteria and faecal matter spray outwards and upwards into the bathroom area, coating everything from the seat to the sink, to your toothbrush if left out, and even the door handle. So everyone should close both lids before flushing or risk scrubbing your teeth with nasty germs!!!!
