I would like a list of things that you people do in order to save money...I put up a question a few months ago asking how to make an anti-perspirant without spending any money-and it worked! So, please list any ways that you have of doing things that are necessary without spending any money or using things around the house.

Not sure if this is the type of thing you're refering to, but apparently using shampoo on ones hair washes away the natural oils which would normally clean it, if you stop using shampoo the after a period of time the generation of these natural oils begains to clean your hair without the need for shampoo, unfortunately I understand that your hair goes through a rather distressed not to say odourous state before reaching the self cleaning stage... but would save money on shampoo in the long run.
If your a bloke (or attractive women) shave your hair off. Never seen it look bad on anybody and I havent been to the barbers in 8 years. I used to go lets say once every 2 months so thats 6 times a year x 10 (I have no real idea but it was/is something like that for a hair cut) so thats 480 I have saved. Minus 25 for a pair of good quailty cutters and there you go. Also takes no time to wash or dry (can do it in the sink with your hands) and you use little if no shampoo (I have had the same bottle of head and shoulders for 2 years).
Only use half the recommended amount of washing powder. I find most things get just as clean - for anything really dirty I add some washing soda (cheaper than washing powder!) and rub stains with Vanish beforehand. I've been doing this with littl'un's nappies for the last 2 years now.
A few sites - try http://www.frugalcorner.com/ , http://www.frugalfinesse.com/ , or http://frugalliving.about.com/
Several ideas

- Buy staples (like Coffee, Loo rolls etc) when they are on special offer. Watch the "reduced" sections in Supermarkets. Don't buy convenience foods ... they are more expensive than using fresh ingredients. Make your own soups ... they are cheaper and nicer. Go to boot fairs. Check out the "for sale" sections in your local paper etc etc.

Bravo, good to hear the vinegar technique worked. Maybe others will now have the courage to try it.
A friend of mine went to Ladakh for 18 months and did the no-hair washing thing and it *does* work. 2 Months and you have naturally glossy hair. Bad news is that the Ladakhis have festivals every few months and u *are* supposed to wash your hair for those. So she was back to square one every few months.......Doh !

cool guys. Well I'm going to stop washing my hair then! That sounds like a good tip Moog and kahunabean . So basically just wash my hair with water right? Or not at all? Ok, keep them coming.
With groceries avoid being tempted into loyalty to any brand. Only be brand averse to those you discover are not to your liking even though they are cheaper.
Buy a battery recharger and the rechargeable batteries you need for all your gizmos - seems like a large capital expenditure but saves s in the long run.
Watch the "Reduced" shelves in the supermarket carefully. If something is marked down but was originally "2 for the price of one" and you can find a second one also marked down, you can end up with a credit balance! My best buy was Mr Sainsbury giving ME 1 when I bought 4 pieces of salmon once!!
try this it could help you save more www.saversclub.us
