I know this is purely psychological but every time I go into a public phone box I'm suddenly dying to pee. I know that sounds ridiculous and I keep telling myself that but even if I go a couple of minutes before I just can't stop the feeling.
Does anyone else suffer from anything like this?

cant say i do sorry
I am exactly the same and have been for as long as I can remember.

And record/cd shops. As soon as I start browsing - I need a wee.

Nowadays I browse on-line. :)
I think that you are remembering and associating the old red phone boxes that always stank of pee coz that's what they were used for by any passing drunk, a toilet!!
Is it just phone boxes, or does it happen in other situations ?

When you make a phone call, you are committing time that is not entirely under your control, i.e. you can't just go to the loo without appearing rude or unconventional. Does it happen on buses for example ?
i am not the same with phone boxes i must admit but whenever i go to make a call from a my home landline i need a wee?
i always need ;to go ; just as i am dropping off to sleep why is that
Crete, you are supposed to go before you get into bed, that would solve the problem.
i do mr ratter you cheeky young 50 year old
I don't find it in phone boxes - but the old red ones always stank - but I'm terrible on a long car journey with the motion - I drive everyone nuts as I need to go at nearly every service station
maybe we should all be prescribed incontinence pads on the good old N H S
I'm ok in phone boxes but always need to go as soon as I get in the bath.
it happens to luckyeight everytime she stands up in the bath.. ;-)
um, have you witnessed this, jipsquithesq - and does luckyeight know you're watching her take baths?
oh my dear what is going on in the bathroom
I have documentary evidence but, alas, no personal evidence.

However, I may ask for some kind of etch-a-sketch provided by an off duty courtroom artist
so now you're going to take someone else along!! Won't she be disturbed by the rattling noise as you clean off your board?
Once upon a time there was a question. Then someone was daft enough to ask it on Answerbank :)
i was going to comment on how the old red phone boxes always made me retch with the stench.
now i'm far more interested in the watersports.
please, continue........
I used to always need a wee when i used them Sherry1. Haven't used a public phone for years now, so i don't know if i would be the same.

Always need a wee before making (what i think will be) a long phone call though.

Oh god, and car journeys.

I think i'm turning into my mother.
A car. 4 occupants. The driver is the Managing Director. In the front passenger seat is the Finance Director. In the nearside rear seat is a rather tasty uplift-bra-with-a-bit-of-cleavage piece of totty. In the offside rear passenger seat is a very pleasant man. They are off to a far business meeting. The pleasant man had a humungous curry the night before, oh ho ho I'll be ok in the morning ! But he wasn't, and as the traffic ground to a halt, his peristalses worsened.

Where am I going he cried ?
