Age to start periods?

Is it normal to have started your periods at 10? I started mine at 10 but all my friends started theirs about 13.Just wandered what were the usual ages at which girls start periods.

Periods are different for every woman. Some girls start menstruation when they're 9 or 10; some in their late teens.

There is no 'normal' age, it is hereditary and depends on development, I was 11, my daughter was 11 too, girls develop at different rates that's all.

I was 10 & 3 months (1961). My daughter was 9 & 9 months (1982)! It's not as unusual now as it used to be.

i too was 10, but my sister was 15!

Forgive me if this is a genuine user and question, however, if not, I find this type of manipulation of other users worrying, as it is lulling people into revealing personal information for dubious and suspect reasons.

if it is fake, what is the reasoning going on in a mind that has to ask open questions like this? maybe they want to provide evidence for getting out of jury service and are going for the mental health issue option.
