ive just come back from shopping with my brother he has a disabled badge as he has ms and finds it hard to work very far, well we couldnt find a space anywhere,i got out and went looking round, you know what a woman with her two kids went into one ,she had no badge on her car,so i went up to her and said,do you know these spaces are for the disabled, she said yep i know but im not going to be long, well that did it for me,i said my brother has been driving round for 20mins looking for a space and he needs this more than you do,are you going to move the car,she said no you park somewhere else,im not really a nasty person but she was being cheeky infront of her kids so i said if you dont move your car ill move it myself.she just walked away laughing into the shop, i waited 10mins she never came out so i and a passer by who was a very nice man we pushed her car out of the way and we parked there ourselves,my brother went into the shops i waited incase she came back,my bro was back before her,he got in and we drove off, as we were driving away we saw a warden going up to the car,i hope the stupid selfish cow got a ticket, some people are so cruel

wonderwoman1 think i need a lie down now feeling abit sicky think its just hitting me what ive done
if the steering lock wes on there wil be expensive damage
You can affectively move any car with the bump & push method, i,ve done it a few times myself
not to mention the suspension
I just cannot see how you moved a locked car which would also have had the handbreak on.Its like me going outside now into my driveway and just "pushing " my car - it wouldnt budge - I just dont get it!
well laurence if anyone tried it with mine they would have a bill they would not see over, it would destroy the steering and proibably the auto gear box
tradey,no matter what the outcome you did the right thing,my hubby would have done the same as he's shouting to me here..lol. I bet that woman had a shock to think you had the cheek to actually move her car from a disabled parking space, How inconsiderate of you..lol.

dotty, the question is not what damage it might cause.

Pinkfizz, trust me your car can be moved with it in gear and the handbrake on
Good for you ... move to my town immediately ... we need more people like you

Well done tradey! We've got disabled spaces outside the theatre where I work, and it annoys me intensely when people without permits park there. I always feel slightly smug when the traffic wardens come around.
noone has disputed the bravery and honourable reasons for moving the car, i just think committing an illegal act and potentially causing trouble for yourself when there were probably alternatives is wrong.
dotty, what alternatives were their then.

Sorry but no matter how you look at this, what you did was illegal. Probably more so than what that woman did. You should have either waited for another spot or called the traffic warden yourself.
Since you stayed by the car anyway, couldn't you have just dropped your brother off at the door and circled around until he came out?
Taking the law into your own hands is reckless. This was not a matter of life and death, and you had no right to move this woman's car, no matter where she was parked. You really should learn to control yourself.
