It is a problem parking for school pick up but I normally get parked just past the yellow line further up the street. For a year now I have noticed there is a disabled parking place just opposite the door where the children come out and I have never seen a car parked in it. I have sometimes parked in it but never leave my car as I don't cross the road till the school door opens to let the little ones out. I am back at car in less than a minute. While I am in car and the traffic warden came along would I get a ticket of course I would move if there was an owner to the parking place requiring to park. But I really don't think it is used might have been by previous owners of the house .It hasn't even been repainted.

I'm sure you have posted this before.

You cannot park in a disabled parking space without the proper blue badge. You will have no grounds for appeal if you get a ticket.

As it is directly opposite a school gate, I suspect there would be school zig zags on the road instead of the disabled bay, so you wouldn't be able to park there anyway.

No Ethel it was a slightly different question. The reason I ask is that the white lines have not been repainted but all the rest have. I think the only way I am going to find out is knock on the door and ask. The zig zags are slightly further up.
I wonder how many disabled people have driven past in need of a parking space while you were hogging their carspace. it would serve you right if they ran you over and you broke your legs - THEN at least you'd be able to legally use this carspace you're obsessed with!
actually, thats not true mamjet. Disabled badges arent given to people with temporary disabilities (ie broken legs, waiting for a hip replacement).

Wendilla, perhaps the person with the space works so therefore is never there at school chucking out time. Do you go past at other times?
I don't know why you are so obsessed with this. It doesn't matter who the space belongs to, If you don't have a blue badge, then you can't park in it, end of! Parking in it without a badge can cost 1000. Why don't you walk to school? You can have my badge if you like, but you have to take my disability as well!

I can't understand why people back fire on a simple question. I am not obsessed with it ,this is outside a house in a very small street. I am just wondering if it was used by the previous owners of the house and the new owners don't use it or do not have a car or else use the garage . And as for walking I pick up my grandson for my daughter as she is at work and I travel 3 miles so please don't jump to conclusions before you know the facts.
sorry, we'll leave the jumping of conclusions to you -

"i really don't think it used..."

Firstly the fact that you would wish to use a disabled parking area says a lot about you.

Secondly just because it's not used when you see it means nothing... if i go past your driveway and there is no car in it can i use it please?

Also, do you not think that parking a vehicle directly opposite the entrance to a school could provide a hazard for children crossing the road - other cars, i assume, would need to cross the white line to pass your car? This is why the 'yellow line' you mentioned ensures vehicles are parked a sufficient distance from the school gate.
bednobs - I had a blue disabled parking badge whilst waiting for my hip replacement.

I returned it when I could walk more ably after the op.

I was not going to make any more comment on this as you are all ready to jump. I would not knowing deprive any disabled driver from there parking..I have found out from traffic warden it has not been private for 2 years and it will be covered when road is resurfaced. there is plenty of parking for D D drivers all the way up the right side. I like to park near only as I am elderly and sometimes have problems breathing in cold and windy weather. It is not directly across form main gate it is a smaller gate a little further back and as it is not registered as private anymore anyone can park in it.It was curiousity as the yellow lines had been repainted and these white ones hadnt they are quite faint.
