Arr eh Bez gerl, no need for the swearin mate, housework is a dirty word arounf ere
despite knowing what you mean, would like to here from you in what way you're taking life too seriously? It's all pretty futile really, although I know (all too well at twenty to one on a Saturday morning, with the raging hump) that that's easy to say.... but indulge me....

hiya dot

i am the same, i take life waaaaaay too seriously...i am a very sensitive person and i dont think people appreciate that!!

i wish i could take a week off too tho!!

if ever i need to chill out, i book myself in for some spa treatments or a facial, then go to the gym for a sauna, it works a treat....hmmm may need to do all that tomorrow now cos tonight on here has got me well narked!!

take care

I am taking life too seriously because:

i have worked 52 hours this week to earn enough next month to afford not only my normal monthly bills but the balance of my holiday.

i have reduced myself to tears in the car driving home from work at 8.15 pm because paul gambacini played the overture to West Side Story on the car radio and it reminded me of my Mum

I have had to organise a desciplinary meeting for a memebr of staff who thinks it is ok to turn into work when they like as opposed to when i rota'd them in

My grandson's Mum is being a biatch cos despite the fact that we have him for every weekend and every school holiday she threw a hissy fit last week cos i couldn't drive him back to her's ready for school monday morning even though i had been off ill all week with flu and felt like sh1te.

so I feel i deserve a break

I'd take a break on a beach somewhere... not expensive like the Caribbean, just somewhere warm but close, Benidorm or Corfu or something. Load up with airport books and just commute between the sea and the tavernas. Ideally, leave your mobile behind and DO NOT go looking for a bar broadcasting BB.

Of course you deserve a break .. we all do, and your holiday should be a good one, but try to get your stress levels down before then so that you can enjoy it more. wonderwoman 1's suggestions are good - massage particularly is more therapeutic than people think, it's not just about getting rid of tension, it's about personal contact (in the most professional sense) and it's really good for the psyche.

But to address the issues ...

52 hours over 5 days? is a lot of work, that's not taking life too seriously ... that's tiredness.

Crying over the memory of your mum is not taking life too seriously, it's remembering someone you loved, and the fact that she is so remembered is honoring her life... I hope we're all so lucky.

If some silly cow can't do her job properly, not your problem, you do yours and tell her that she (he) needs to do theirs .. far far easier said than done .. but still not your issue, theirs.

Your grandsons mother being unreasonable and hysterical over something that you had little control over through illness is again her issue ... not yours.

I don't think you're taking life too seriously at all, I just think you've had a lot thrown at you in a short space of time and you want to tell everyone to back off. Make some time for you, say 'no' in act or in thought and have a good rest. I hope you have the bank holiday off, and that you keep it for you and recover well.

Hope this doesn't come across as being 'preachy'!! just know that it helps me when people point out the practicalities of situations rather than me focusing on where 'I' went wrong.

Good luck honey x x

Do they really broadcast BB abroad ... god I'm ashamed to be British sometimes ... :o(

Think of something you feel is totally frivolous and completely self indulgent then.......indulge!

mmmmmmmmm. a beauty salon has opened up on the main road, 25 yards from my front door, should i resist? or risk it for a bisuit?
dunno if that's good advice or not Aprilis. Sometimes I've done something indulgent like that, then come out of it finding I've got something I didn't really truly want, I've paid good money for it, I'm feeling a bit of a clot, and it hasn't actually solved the problem that was first bugging me anyway. I don't want to be too dogmatic about this; maybe it works better for some people than others. Anyway, as I said, my own preferred way is to get out of town and go somewhere warm.

Hi dot, I think you should play with your tabbit !!!!!!

Take care, Ray

i think most of us get to the point where we think its all getting too much. ive had weeks when all i seem to do is work and sleep.

memories make us what we are. can anyone in here say in all honesty, that they have never sat back and felt like cyring ? no they cant !

girl, you are just another one in a world of millions. dont want to make you feel worse, just let you know you are not alone in your hour of need.

who gives a hoot about work when push comes to shove ? not me. im 43 and now im working physically harder than ive ever done. i work 3 shifts and cant sleep. ive aged 10 years in the last five.

to cut to the root of it dot, if you need a friend, a bit of reasurance, or just to give someone a round of what fors "bring it on" . there are lots of good folk in here that are more than happy to perk up a good un.

Dot,how are you today? hope you are a bit brighter, let us know how your doing, Ray
