In light of the recent marriage break-up of the McCartneys, I was wondering what your thoughts are on age gaps in relationships? Can it work out if there are huge differences in age? Any experiences you'd like to share?

yep it can work, im 17 years older than my wife, we've been together for 7 years and married for 3, when we first met her parents were not very happy, her mother still isnt and her dad will always see me as the man who stole his daughter's virginity,
Hubby's 16 years older than me and we have just celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary and have 2 beautiful daughters. So yeah it can work :o)
We get on great too and do everything together, just simply because we want to be with each other as much as possible... well, that and the fact we have no money to do anything else! ;o) lol (I kid, I kid)
I don't think my parents were too happy to begin with, esp when I fell pregnant at 19 (we'd not been together long at this point), sadly my Dad died before our eldest daughter was born, but my Mum can see how much we mean to each other and she looks on him as the son she never had, gets on better than I do with her sometimes lol
I don't think age matter's, but then I would say that lol, No different to similar age couples splitting up really.

I LOL way too much!!!

.....you all probably think I walk round laughing! I don't, I'm a miserable cow really!

Sorry, just wanted to clear that up.

I have a dear friend whose husband died last year .They had been married for thirty years and he was 20 years older than her ..second marriages for both of them. They were devoted to one another and had a long happy marriage. So it worked for them.
When I was 23 , I went out with a 17 year old bird....was a bit strange...she was too young for me.

Friends of ours found out their daughter was marrying a man two years older than her dad - who duly boycotted the wedding. Twenty years on, he regrets it, they are still together, and their son-in-law is still two years older than her dad!

A friend of mine married a woman fifteen years younger than him. It was only a bit embarassing because he looked about ten years older than he is, and she looked ten years youger, so they were always being mistaken for father and daughter!

At 20 I was with a guy aged 40....at 25 a guy aged 39.

Now I'm 30 & my bf is 39 lets hope I really am settled now coz it could be getting illegal by the time I'm 60 :-/ lol

I'm still friends with the guy who was 20 years older than me, its the kind of people we are that seperated us not our ages.
I'm 22 and i'm seeing someone who's 45, we get on so well it's unbelievable! I know lots of people may frown upon the 23 year age gap, but we don't care what anyone else thinks because we're happy.
