Hi everyone. At the risk of sounding like a complete hypocondriac - I've had a sore throat for the past 3 or 4 months. Its right at the base of my throat where the dip is in the collar bone and on the right side. I haven't been ill and I feel ok apart from generally tired (no change there then !) I guess I should go to docs but dont like bothering her for something trivial.

Any ideas pls ? Thanks Elaine

hey there...im not to sure on any diagnosis for this but from the sounds of it tis def worth seeing the doc about. Better to be safe than sorry I have been to doc with little probs that i donmt think are worth bothering about and sometimes have just been nothing but others have needed looking at. If something has been bothering you for 3-4 months then i dont think you are being a hypocondriac (not sure have spelt that right!)

Good luck and hope you find an answer tis always worrying not knowing what something is on your body with all the things that we can catch or contract these days.

I would go to see someone at the pharmacy in the chemist they might be of some help they are likely to tell you to go to the doctors though but its worth a try
It would be sensible to see your GP if you've had a sore throat for 4 months, especially if you are a smoker. I don't know what age you are, but any medical problem which has lasted this long should be investigated. It could be a problem with your tonsils but there's no point guessing. Go and see the experts rather than people like us who can only speculate.
