What exactly are hives? Are they caused by stress or anxiety?


In the last 3-4 days I have had itchy patches on my neck and head. You can't see them unless I scratch them. They aren't flea bites or fly bites. They are very different from flea bites and I would have remembered if I had been swarmed by flies. I know they aren't bites as 2 more have appeared since this morning on my neck! They are itchy and really annoying. Does anyone know what they could be? I was thinking hives coz I know they aren't bites but you get hives from stress and anxiety I think so if I was going to get them then trust me I would have had them by now!

Have you tried taking an antihistamine? I think hives can be stress related but they can be a bit of an allergic reaction as well I think. Poor Ruby isnt having a good day :-(

No I haven't! Wtf is it? Where can I get one? I am having a truly crap day. The only good thing thats happened is that I watched up to episode 12 of series 2 of Lost. :o(

You can pick up some piriton or allergy relief tablets in the chemists and tescos- loratadine on the label is the best one it would bring it down quickly and you wouldnt feel drowsy at all. Ive seen the whole of series 2 of Lost- Im in Australia and Ruby its BRILLIANT ! Dont you just love that show ?? !!

Lost is awesome. I am in love with Sawyer. That man is the sexiest thing ever! *stops to swoon and caledar of Sawyer on wall*.. Ahhhhhhh. I am soooooooooo hooked.

Ooooooh a Sawyer butty. Mmmm. I loooove him. I didn't really like Jack at the beginning.. I loved his character but never fancied him.. but I must say now I am starting to look at him in a new light. Maybe I just need to get laid! Lol

Locke would have got it at the beginning but now he is looking abit haggered.. Lol. But he could build you cool stuff and you could feast on wild boar! Then you could shag Jin on the side for the fish and ***** for the protection.. Jack for your health and Sawyer .. just coz he is Sawyer and he would say 'Ma'am' *shiver*..

oh and about your hivey things is it kinda like white flat blisters?? it could be urtecaria(spelled something like that) it can be brought on by lots of things like being too hot or too cold etc
